Derek McKinnon is a CEO of Building Futures Education Services. Derek graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours). After working as a Civil Engineer for several years, he successfully transitioned to software development, eventually becoming Software Development Manager for Ingeus, a leading global Welfare to Work company.
Derek started a Masters of Business Administration at QUT while at Ingeus, and finished it after leaving to become co-CEO of his family’s childcare business. His passion is helping families during the difficult first years of their children’s lives. He is in charge of Information Technology, Finance, Property at BFES.
